Bob's Valley Market, a Helena staple for over 50 years, is undergoing a major expansion.

Owner Steve Bartmess is doubling the store's size to meet the community's needs, citing the growing population in the valley.

The store, known for its Montana Valley Hams, has been a family-run business since the 1960s.

Bartmess and his family have deep connections to the store and the community, emphasizing the importance of family involvement.

Despite construction challenges, Bartmess is optimistic about the store's future, aiming to offer more products and better services.

The expanded store is set to open in late May or early June.

Downtown Helena is experiencing growth thanks to the Helena Business Improvement District (HBID).

Executive Director Alysia Ryan reports a dozen new businesses have opened in the area in the past year.

The organization aims to promote economic strength in the area, offering grants to new and existing businesses for growth and community events.

Ten Mile Creek Brewing has used HBID funds for events on the walking mall and acquired Rialto Bar.

Aspen and Pines Pilates recently opened near the Great Northern Town Center, receiving positive feedback from owner Juanita Ostrem.
