The city of East Helena, along with the Montana Preservation Alliance, received a $6,000 grant from the Montana History Foundation to restore and display historic Star of David windows from a former smelter in the area.

The windows were built in 1900 and were a part of the smelter building which was demolished in 2009.

The restoration project will be led by restoration carpenter Mary Webb and is expected to be completed this summer.

The windows will be incorporated into a larger restoration project at the East Helena Volunteer Fire Hall.

Other projects funded by the Montana History Foundation were also mentioned in various locations.

The Helena High School Counseling Department is hosting an event on Sat, 25 Oct, 2025 at 1300 Billings Ave, Helena, MT, United States.

Big Sky Shows Autumn Art & Craft Show will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the Helena Civic Center Ballroom in Helena, MT.

Admission is $5, with children 12 and under free.

In September, over 6,000 new businesses were registered in Montana, an increase from the previous year's 4,900 registrations.

Department of Agriculture has cut over $1 billion in funding that was intended to support schools and food pantries in purchasing from local producers.

Helena Food Share, a local organization, will be impacted by these cuts, which include reductions to the Local Food for Schools Program and the Local Food Purchase Assistance Program.

Helena Food Share had received $200,000 in grant funding through the LFPA, using it to purchase locally produced foods for their programs.

The organization will now need to rely more on community donations to continue providing food to those in need.

A recent college graduate from Montana, Markus Klewin, became a hero when he jumped into a moving car after the driver suffered a medical emergency.

The incident occurred in Bozeman on October 6th, at 8:36 a.m.

Markus, a former Montana State student, noticed the driver was having a seizure and immediately jumped into action, stopping the vehicle and calling 911.

The driver received medical attention and is now recovering.

Security footage captured the harrowing incident, showing Markus's quick and brave response.

Authorities and the Town Pump legal department praised Markus for his heroic actions in helping to save the driver's life.

The Montana Historical Society Museum Store will temporarily close on October 17, 2025, to relocate to a new, expanded location at the Montana Heritage Center.

Renamed "The Gift Shop," it will reopen on December 3, 2025.

The new store will offer a broader selection of Montana-made products in an enhanced shopping experience.

The relocation has allowed for a collaboration with local Indigenous artists to present authentic, handcrafted pieces.

The store will feature clothing, jewelry, artwork, gourmet snacks, books, and items for children.

The Gift Shop aims to showcase the best of Montana's artisans and makers in its new, larger space.

The Helena Bighorns Hockey Club is hosting a game on Fri, 24 Oct, 2025 at 07:05 pm at 400 Lola Street in Helena, MT.
